Wagner's all time leading scorer, Terrance Bailey (1983-1987) amassed 2,591 points in his four-year career at Wagner under head coach Neil Kennett. The only three-time All-ECAC Metro Conference First Team Selection, Bailey was named the league's Player of the Year in 1985-86, when he led the nation in scoring with a school-record average of 29.4 points per game earning him Honorable Mention All-American honors from the Associated Press before averaging 28.1 ppg as a senior.

He also notched back-to-back 40-point games, including a school-record tying 49-point effort against Brooklyn, which earned him Sports Illustrated Player of the Week honors. Bailey was also twice selected First Team All-Metropolitan by the New York Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association and finished his playing career as the area’s leading scorer, ranking 14th on the NCAA Division I All-Time scoring list. After his senior season in 1987, he was picked by the Atlanta Hawks in the second round of the NBA draft. Bailey was named to the Northeast Conference's (NEC) All-Decade Team, 20th Anniversary Team in 2000, its 25th Anniversary Team in 2005.
