Maureen 'Moe' Coughlin-Hannafin (1986-1989) was a four-year letterwinner for the women's basketball team from 1985-1989. Coughlin-Hannafin was a major contributor to the Seahawk backcourt and is generally regarded as one of the finest student-athletes in the history of the program. She earned All Northeast Conference (NEC) Second Team honors as a sophomore and First Team honors as a junior before capping her career with the the NEC Player of the Year Award as a senior. Coughlin-Hannafin also led the Green & White to their first-ever NEC Title in 1989 with a 66-60 win over Robert Morris while securing a 22-7 record (14-2 NEC).

A three-time Team MVP, she ranks third on Wagner's all-time scoring list with 1,612 career points and fourth all-time with a 14.5 points per game average. The Staten Island native is the school's all-time leader in steals while also appearing on the school's top-10 list in field goals made and free throws made. Coughlin-Hannafin is also extremely proud of winning the "triple crown" while donning the Green and White- the Wagner Christmas Tournament Title, a NEC regular-season title, and the NEC Tournament Championship.

Longtime Wagner fans will always remember when 'Moe' earned the Wagner Christmas Tournament MVP award after she tallied 22 points in an overtime win over national power Middle Tennessee State in the Championship Game. Over her four years, the Seahawks went 71-42, including 45-17 during league play. She also was named MVP in each of her final three years and served as a co-captain during her junior and seniors years.
