NEC Announces 2015 Men’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll

NEC RELEASE I 2015 SCHEDULE

Somerset, NJ – Northeast Conference men's lacrosse coaches have unanimously picked Bryant to win its fourth consecutive NEC title in 2015 as revealed in the annual preseason coaches' poll that was released today by the league office.
 
Saint Joseph's was tabbed to finish second. Hobart and Sacred Heart were voted third and fourth, respectively. Robert Morris, Mount St. Mary's and Wagner rounded out the seven team poll.
 
The three-time defending NEC Tournament champion Bulldogs were picked first in six of the seven polls, making them a unanimous selection as coaches were not allowed to vote for their own teams. 
 
Bryant won its third consecutive NEC Tournament title last spring with a 10-4 victory over Hobart.The Bulldogs defeated Siena in the first round of the NCAA tournament and shocked second-ranked Syracuse to advance to the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals before falling to seventh-ranked Maryland, 16-8.
 
Seahawk fourth-year head coach Matt Poskay welcomes back 21 letterwinners from last seasons' 2-11 squad, including seven starters. The 2015 roster is comprised of seven seniors, five juniors, two red-shirt sophomores and 10 sophomores, in addition to a deep and talented 17-man freshman class.
 
The Seahawks, who open the 2015 campaign with a 3:00 p.m. home game on Friday vs. Lafayette, will be led by a quintet of captains in senior defenseman Matt Bunting (Wyckoff, NJ / Ramapo), senior midfielder Michael McMenamin (Longport, NJ / St. Augustine Prep), redshirt-sophomore midfielder Patrick McMenamin (Longport, NJ / St. Augustine Prep), redshirt-sophomore midfielder William McMenamin (Longport, NJ / St. Augustine Prep), and junior goalie Anthony Peruso (Warwick, NY / John S. Burke Catholic).
