Chris Greco

Chris Greco begins his fourth season as part of the Wagner Seahawk coaching staff. Greco will work with the Green & White hitters, as well as serving as the Seahawks infielders and serve as first base coach. 

Greco assisted the coaching staff in leading the Seahawks to the 2017 Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament on the heels of the team going 4-1 over the last five games in clinching the No. 3 seed in the tournament. At the plate, the Green & White placed among the top-three in several offensive categories, which included slugging percentage, triples, while leading the Northeast Conference (NEC) in home runs with 42.

After helping guide Wagner to its second-straight Northeast Conference (NEC) tournament appearance, Greco spent the 2015 summer as an assistant coach of the Laconia Muskrats (now known as the Winnipesaukee Muskrats), who finished the season with a 21-21 record while capturing the No. 4 seed in the North Division of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL).

On July 13, Greco was named to the coaching staff for the NECBL All-Star Game for the North Division.  

Greco arrived on Grymes Hill after being involved with the NJ Twins, a baseball travel team based out of Pittstown, NJ, where Greco was involved with all elements of the program since June of 2008.

He, along with sixth-year head coach Jim Carone, share a common bond, as both Greco and Carone were members of the Monmouth University baseball program.

Before Monmouth left the NEC for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) back in 2012, Greco played two seasons for the Hawks, serving as team captain in 2013.  He transferred to the West Long Branch, NJ school after a year at Brookdale Community College after playing his freshman season at Hofstra.

While at Monmouth, Greco was the 2013 Heart of the Hawk Recipient, which recognized a senior student-athlete for on-field, academic and community achievement, as well as dedication to the program.  In his senior campaign, Greco hit .300 in 10 games, which included one start at the hot corner (third base).

Before attending Monmouth, he batted .356 with two homeruns at Brookdale  Primarily a shortstop at Passaic Valley High School, Greco led the squad to league and county championship, while being tabbed as the 2007 Rookie of the Year, after batting .420 with 25 RBIs to also earn all-county accolades. 

Greco, who holds a black belt in the art of Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate Do, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in health and physical education from Monmouth.
