Staten Island, NY -
Saint Peter's struck for six runs in the top of the ninth inning in posting an 8-3 come-from-behind win over Wagner in non-conference action at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark. The game was plagued by sloppy play as the teams combined for six errors while allowing six unearned runs.

Junior Eddie Brown (Edison, NJ / St. Joseph's (Metuchen)) led an eight-hit Green & White attack, going 2-for-3 with a RBI double, run and a walk while recording his second-straight multiple-hit game. Freshman Cliff Brantley (Staten Island, NY / Port Richmond) also had a solid game, going 2-for-4 with a triple.

Wagner struck first with a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the third inning. Senior Joe Conforti (Staten Island, NY / Farrell) drew a two-out walk and Brown was hit by a pitch before the pair moved up to second-and-third on a wild pitch. Senior Seth Boyd (Perth Amboy, NJ / Perth Amboy) then hit a routine grounder that the second baseman booted, allowing Conforti and Brown to come around and score easily while giving the Seahawks the early 2-0 lead.

The Green & White added to the lead with a single run in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and freshman Connor Abreu (Piscataway, NJ / Piscataway) on first base, Brown laced a double to left field. On the play, Abreu was off and running and scored easily on the successful hit-and-run play.

After stranding nine runners over the first five innings, including leaving the bases loaded twice, Saint Peter's got on the scoreboard with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning on a Russell Stupienski two-out, two-run double to left field. Stupienski was stranded in scoring position on the ensuing play when Brown made an outstanding diving play in between first-and-second before throwing to first for the third out of the frame.

The Peacocks then assumed their first lead of the game at 8-3 in the top of the ninth inning, scoring six runs on four hits and a pair of crucial errors before Kevin Croucher set Wagner down in order in the bottom of the ninth.

Croucher (3-2) picked up the win, striking out four while yielding three hits over 4.0 scoreless frames. Stupienski paced an 13-hit Saint Peter's attack, going 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI.

Senior LHP David Rees (Staten Island, NY / Farrell) fell to 2-3 with the loss, yielding two earned runs over 0.2 innings of work.

Wagner returns to action on Thursday, April 21 at 3:00 pm at Quinnipiac.
