took the PSAL by storm as a senior in 2012-13 after transferring to tradition-rich Murry Bergtraum High School in Manhatta following her junior season. She was a standout at Mary Louis Academy priot to her senior year.
Rated a four-star recruit, the eighth- best player in the state of New York, and the 91
st player in her position nationally by
ESPN Hoopgurlz, Nwajei, once scored 55 points in a game while leading Mary Louis team to an upset of national powerhouse Christ the King HS. Nwajei was sought after by a host of colleges and universities from across the Northeast and beyond.

“Jasmine, to me, is one of the most underrated point guards in the country,” Cermignano said. “With her ability to score, create for others, and put an entire team on her back, she will have an immediate impact in raising the level of Wagner Women’s Basketball.”
As a senior, the 5-8 guard averaged more than 15 points per game in leading Murry Bertraum to a 25-3 record, its 15
th straight PSAL title, and to an appearance in the State Federation Playoffs in Albany. Also a standout on the highly-competitive Positive Direction Royals AAU program, Nwajei became a loyal member of this family values-based program when she was 10 years old.
On April 12, 2013, Nwajei
took part in the inaugural Mayor's Cup Basketball All-Star Game, an event that showcased the best male and female high school seniors from New York City’s Public Schools Athletic League (PSAL), vs. the best seniors from the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA).“As soon as she gets on the court you can't help but notice her athleticism and feisty competitiveness,” said
