Hardy and Nankervis Earn MAAC Weekly Water Polo Honors

Edison, NJ – Junior attack Erica Hardy and freshman utility Daisy Nankervis have been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Hardy, who ranks third in NCAA Division I in with 50 assists, just two behind teammate Kristy Donkin's 52, earns player of the week honors for the first time this season and second time in her career. This also marks the third time in her career that she has received a MAAC weekly honor as she earned one rookie of the week award as a freshman back in 2015.

The Montreal, Quebec native helped lead the Seahawks to three victories this past weekend over Virginia Military Institute, Siena, and La Salle. Wagner's 3-0 weekend allowed the Seahawks to remain undefeated in MAAC play. The 2017 First-Team All-MAAC Selection, recorded 10 goals and five assists, combining for 15 points on the weekend, in addition to recording seven steals.

For Nankervis, whose 27 assists rank eighth in the MAAC, this is her second Rookie of the Week award this season. The Sydney, Australia native found the back of the net eight times, while dishing out nine assists in the three games over the weekend. The newcomer also grabbed six steals while contributing 17 points.

The Green & White (18-6; 10-0) are back in action April 14-15 when they take on MAAC foes Villanova, Iona, No. 24 Marist, and St. Francis Brooklyn.
