Emmitsburg, MD – Riding a five-game win streak, the Wagner baseball team travels to Emmitsburg, Maryland to take on the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers in a four-game Northeast Conference (NEC) series.
 
SEAHAWKS QUICK HITS:

• Wagner has won five in a row to improve to 21-15-1 overall and 9-3 in the NEC.  The five-game win streak is the second longest win streak of the season for the Seahawks as they rattled off seven straight from March 14^th to April 2.
• Senior C/INF Nick Dini (Monroe Township, NJ/Monroe Township), sophomore right-hander Nolan Long (Waterford, CT/Waterford [South Kent Prep] and freshman OF Anthony Godino (Thornwood, NY/Pleasantville) were named NEC Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week this week.
• According to the conference website, which includes records dating back to the 1998 season, this marks the first time that Wagner has had players take home honors in all three weekly categories. 

 
ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS:

• After a six game losing streak, Mount St. Mary's brings a three-game win streak into the weekend series with Wagner, after a trio of one-run victories over Sacred Heart this past weekend.
• Three Mountaineers are hitting above .300 led by Kory Britton's .373 average followed by Andrew Clow (.360) and Ryan Owens (.301).
• Britton leads the team with 20 RBIs while Zach Hostetter has a team-leading three home runs on the year.  Britton has posted a .492 slugging percentage and a .437 on-base percentage.
• In 16 conference games, Clow is hitting .393 with .554 slugging percentage and a .462 on-base percentage.
• On the mound, Chris Campbell has the lowest ERA on the squad at 2.41 while boasting a 3-1 record in 10 appearances.  He has pitched 33.2 innings while batters are only hitting .226 against the righty.

 
SERIES HISTORY:

• All-time, the Seahawks are 45-35 against Mount St. Mary's since 1989, when Mount made the jump to the Division I level. 
• Last year, these two teams split a four-game series on Staten Island.
• This will be Wagner's first trip to E.T Straw Family Stadium since the 2012 campaign.

 
PROTECTING THE PLATE

• This weekend's series between Wagner and The Mount will feature a pair of 2015 Johnny Bench Award nominees.
• Nick Dini and Mount's Andrew Clow are the only two representatives from the NEC on the list.

 
RACE FOR THE NEC BATTING CROWN:

• This weekend's series features the top four batters in the NEC. Dini leads the league with a .388 average followed by Mount's Kory Britton (.373) and Andrew Clow (.360) while freshman Anthony Godino (.356) is fourth.
• The last time a Seahawk led the league for the entire season in batting was in 1993 as Jack Scholz claimed the batting title with a .418 average.

 
ODDS & ENDS:

• Wagner finished 4-0 against teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) after its 9-3 win against Manhattan on Wednesday evening.
• Sophomore SS Nick Mascelli (Clifton, NJ/Seton Hall Prep) currently rides a six-game hit streak and is batting .405 out of the #2 hole.
• Reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Anthony Godino has reached base safely in his last 14 games.
• Senior OF Zack Yesko (Mukwonago, WI/Mukwonago) is batting .327 out of the #7 spot this season.
• Senior Nick Dini has thrown out 11-of-16 base runners this season (.593 caught stealing percentage).
• The Seahawks are 12-2-1 this season when scoring in the first inning and 15-5-1 when scoring first.
• When scoring six or more runs, Wagner is a combined 16-0 on the season.
