Virginia Beach, VA – Wagner quarterbacks coach Custavious Patterson will serve as head coach at the third annual Dream Bowl, a premier College Football All-Star Game featuring top FCS, D-II and D-III student-athletes, to be today at 12:30 p.m. which caps off a series of events that were held as part of the Martin Luther King Weekend celebration.

Patterson, who will coach the Patriots team vs. the Crusaders team, opposite coach Jordan Neal, who is the offensive coordinator at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, is one of five member of the Seahawk football program taking part in the game.

Among the assistant coaches who will serve under Patterson are Wagner offensive line coach Stefon Wheeler and tackles & tight ends coach Steve Ciocci. Included among the graduating seniors looking to showcase their talents in front of the NFL and CFL scouts who will be in attendance, are Seahawk offensive lineman Eli Grant and defensive lineman Evan Odeseye.

"To be chosen as a head coach in this game, and represent Wagner College in this fashion, is an outstanding and humbling honor," said Patterson, who in his three seasons on Grymes Hill has helped lead the Seahawks to the 2012 Northeast Conference (NEC) championship and to a share of the 2014 league title. "It's a tremendous thrill and I'm happy to be joined by two other members of our coaching staff and two of our players. It should be a great weekend."

In 2012, Patterson served as Wagner's wide receivers coach, a unit that was integral in leading Wagner on its historic 2012 NEC Championship run. After two seasons as wide receivers coach, Patterson took over as quarterbacks coach. Prior to his time at Wagner, Custavious served as the receivers coach at Fordham University.

"I think it's great that Coach Patterson has been chosen to be a head coach at the Dream Bowl," said Wagner head football coach Jason Houghtaling. "It's a reflection of how well-respected that he is within the profession and a real feather in the cap for Wagner football. I'm also excited for Eli and Evan, as well as Coach Wheeler and Coach Ciocci. I'm sure it will be a rewarding experience."

"Coach Patterson's attention to detail on the field, his role as the NFL Liaison, and his dedication to small college athletes, made him an obvious choice to coach the All-Stars of the Dream Bowl," said Neil Malvone, founder and president of Cutting Edge Sports Management, which sponsors the annual Dream Bowl. "Coach Patterson will help make the Dream Bowl a special weekend filled with memories to last a lifetime for the players and their families."
