Wagner Places 119 Student-Athletes On NEC Spring Academic Honor Roll

The Northeast Conference (NEC) announced its Spring Academic Honor Roll, consisting of 800 student-athletes with a 3.20 or better grade-point average. There were also 192 student-athletes named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll, recognizing those superior student-athletes with a 3.75 or better grade-point average.

Wagner placed 119 student-athletes on the Spring Academic Honor Roll and 30 on the Commissioner's Honor.

Three of the Seahawks' 10 NEC-sponsored spring sports paced their counterparts on the honor roll. Baseball led the seven schools that sponsor the sport with 14 selections while men's lacrosse paced six schools with 18 selections. On the women's side, the softball team had 14 of its 18 student-athletes on the academic honor roll, tying Bryant and Robert Morris for first place among the nine institutions that sponsor the sport.

Additionally, the women's lacrosse (16), women's outdoor track & field (15), water polo (15), men's outdoor track & field (8), women's tennis (6), men's golf (5), men's tennis (5), women's golf (3) team were well-represented as the Green & White accounted for almost 15 percent of the entire honor roll. 

All 11 Wagner sports were represented on the NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll (5 - Softball | 5 - Women's Lacrosse | 4 - Water Polo | 4 - Women's Outdoor Track & Field | 3 - Baseball | 3 - Men's Lacrosse | 2 - Men's Golf | 1 - Men's Outdoor Track & Field | 1 - Men's Tennis | 1 - Women's Golf | 1 - Women's Tennis).
