Somerset, NJ - Freshman RHP Nolan Long (Waterford, CT / South Kent) has been named as the Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the Week after hurling 5.0 shutout innings in lifting Wagner to a 1-0 victory over defending league champion Bryant at Conaty Park.

With the Seahawks needing a win to remain alive in the race for the final NEC Tournament berth, Long surrendered just two hits against a Bulldog squad that boasts the top offense in the league. The 6-foot-10 righty, who also is a member of the Wagner basketball team, struck out five while improving to 3-3 with a 2.98 ERA on the season.

Wagner will again lock horns with Bryant on Thursday, May 22 with first pitch slated for 12:00 pm.
