Durham, NH -
The Wagner College women's basketball team fell to New Hampshire, 77-54, on Monday night at Lundholm Gym. With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 1-7 on the season, while the Wildcats improve to 5-5.

Two Seahawks were in double-figures on the night, as senior Marie-Laurence Archambault (Montreal, Quebec/ Montmorency) led Wagner with 13 points, while fellow senior Veronick Fournier (Gatineau, Quebec/ Montmorency) added 11, matching a season-best.

New Hampshire jumped ahead early via strong shooting from the floor. The Wildcats made 10 of their first 18 shots, including four of eight three-point attempts, leading by as many as 17 points in the opening stanza. A layup by sophomore Jacqui Thompson (Southampton, PA/ St. Basil Academy) to beat the buzzer cut the halftime deficit to 37-24. Thompson dished out a season-high eight assists in the game for the Seahawks, the most by a Seahawk this season.

Wagner shot 33.3% (10-for-30) from the floor in the first half, while New Hampshire posted a 54.2% (13-for-24) mark in the first 20 minutes, including a 5-for-11 clip from outside the arc to build the halftime advantage.

The Seahawks heated up in the second half, shooting 45.5% (10-for-22) over the final 20 minutes, while the Wildcats cooled off to a mark of 40.7% (11-for-27). Wagner was 4-for-8 from outside in the second half, as four different Seahawks made a three: Archambault, Fournier, sophomore Stephanie Blais (Sherbrooke, Quebec/ Montmorency) and freshman Jordyn Peck (Shaker Heights, OH/ Shaker Heights).

Monday's game marked the third time in the Green & White's first eight games that the team has made eight three-pointers, previously recording eight against Army (Nov. 9) and Lehigh (Nov. 23). Archambault made a trio of three-pointers in the game, while Blais made two, and Fournier, Peck and junior Laura Amorosa (Kirkland, Quebec/ Phillips Academy) each sank one.

Wagner returns to action on Friday, when the Green & White travel to the Bluegrass State to play No. 14 Louisville. Tip-off at the KFC Yum! Center is slated for 7:00.
