Wagner 59 #15 Pitt 54 - Peterson Events Center - 12/23/11
* Wagner's win was its first over a ranked opponent since besting #15 Alabama 86-74 on November 24, 1978 and the first over a BIG EAST team since beating Rutgers 80-78 on December 16, 1995.
* The victory also was the first-ever win by a Northeast Conference (NEC) opponent against Pitt, snapping a 70-game Panther winning streak against the NEC and the first by a league member since Fairleigh Dickinson defeated Seton Hall 76-71 on November 18, 2006.
* The Seahawks are now 3-24, all-time against the BIG EAST, and had lost 13-straight to the BCS conference since the aforementioned victory over the Scarlet Knights.
* Wagner is now 1-1, all-time, against Pitt while avenging an 87-61 loss to the Panthers in the First Round of the 2003 NCAA Tournament.
* The Seahawks, however, are 3-0, all-time, in the Peterson Events Center having previously won games against Georgetown (KY) and Chicago State in the 2003 Pittsburgh Holiday Hoops Classic.
* The win is just the third-ever by a non-conference team over Pitt in the Peterson Events Center since it opened in the 2002-2003 season. All-time, the Panthers are now 156-14 overall and 91-3 against non-conference opponents in the venue. Additionally, it was just the third loss for Pitt in their past 115 non-league home games.
* Wagner head coach
Dan Hurley improved to 8-7, all-time, against Pitt – spanning his days as a player at Seton Hall (3-4), an assistant at Rutgers (4-3) and as a head coach for the Seahawks (1-0).
* The win is the first by the NEC against a BCS conference this year after the league dropped its first 25 games this year.

ESPNU broadcast and will also bring the action of Seahawks next
