Staten Island, NY – Wagner coach Gela Mikalauskas announced that Chanez Robinson (Newark, NJ / Malcolm X Shabazz) has transferred to Wagner from Northeastern University. Robinson, who will sit out the upcoming year due to NCAA transfer rules, played two seasons with the Huskies and will have two years of eligibility remaining beginning in the 2011-2012 campaign.

Robinson, a 6-2 post-player, saw scant action over two years with Northeastern, seeing time in just 31 games while averaging 0.9 ppg and 1.1 rpg.

“We are very pleased to get a student-athlete like Chanez,” said Mikalauskas. “We feel as though she can step right in and help the program next year.”

Prior to Northeastern, Robinson was an integral member of the powerhouse women's basketball program at Malcolm J. Shabazz, where she helped the Bulldogs to two State Championships while being named All-Essex County three times.
