Eshelman Selected to ESPN the Magazine/COSIDA Academic All-American Team

Senior Kate Eshelman
Staten Island, NY- Wagner College senior third baseman Kate Eshelman (Reno, NV/ McQueen) was named to the ESPN the Magazine / College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American District 1 First Team as released by the organization earlier today, making her eligible for the national ballot. 

Eshelman, who is a Chemistry major, has accumulated a GPA of 3.91 through her time at Wagner College. Last season, Eshelman was named to the ESPN the Magazine / CoSIDA Academic All-American District I Second Team. 

During her career, she was a Three-time NEC Rookie of the Week award winner, a three-time NEC Pitcher of the week, a Second-Team All-NEC Utility Player, a member of the 2007 NEC All-Tournament Team and a First-Team All NEC (3b) pick. 

This season, she has put together a .243 batting average with 32 hits, 10 RBIs, 12 runs scored, five doubles and two triples. 

As a pitcher the previous three years, she compiled a career total of 28 wins and 191 strikeouts. She is third in Wagner Career history with 11 shutouts.
