Malik Hall, who served as Fordham University's defensive line and special teams coordinator last season has been named defensive coordinator/linebackers coach at Wagner College, head football coach/athletic director Walt Hameline announced. 

Hall returned to Fordham in 2009 after spending the previous two years on the staff at Hofstra University where he coached the defensive line. 

At Hofstra in 2008, Hall was part of the top-rated passing defense in the Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) while in 2007, Hofstra ranked first in the CAA and 11th in the FCS in rushing defense and second in the conference and 15th in the nation in total defense. Hall's first stint at Fordham was during the 2006 season when he served as the defensive line coach and assistant special teams coach. During his first stint at Fordham, the Detroit, Michigan, native helped develop a I-AA All-America selection and two All-Patriot League picks. He was also responsible for recruiting in Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Ohio. 

Hall served as defensive line coach at Central Connecticut State in 2004 and 2005, helping the defense finish the 2005 season ranked 18th in the NCAA I-AA in rushing defense. He added the special teams coordinators' duties to his list of responsibilities in 2005. Hall also served a National Football League summer internship with the Detroit Lions in 2005. 

A December 2003 graduate of the University of Massachusetts with a degree in sociology and education, Hall was a three-year letterman, starting on the Minutemen's defensive line as a senior in 2003. He recorded 46 tackles, five tackles for losses and two sacks, as the Minutemen captured the Atlantic 10 championship that year. He also played in 10 games for UMass in 2002 as a junior. 

Hall began his college career at Vermillion Community College in Ely, Minnesota, and served as the team captain in his one season on the football team.
