St
aten Island, NY – The Wagner College men's lacrosse program hosted its annual Alumni Game on Saturday, September 26, which provided an opportunity for the current edition of the Green & White to compete against former members of the Seahawks.
More than 20 former Seahawks turned out for the game and to interact with the current players.
“I thought it was a tremendous day,” said third-year head coach Jason Rife. “Our turnout continues to get better and better each year as we continue to bridge our past players with our current team. As a coach, it's always good to see your players in live competition. Any time you have a chance to watch your team compete against someone other than yourselves, it's beneficial.
“We took a serious approach to the game and then afterwards, it was great to hangout and have our players interact and get to know some of the guys who played here before them,” Rife added. “It makes for a fun day but also a productive one from a program standpoint. All in all, I thought it was a great start to our fall season and helps us prepare for our upcoming scrimmages.”
