Montreal Canada-
Wagner College senior Jessica Hart (Montreal Canada/Northwest) completed day two of the Essais Mondiaux ROME 2009 World Championship Trials with a 7th-place finish in the 50 meter butterfly, clocking in at 27.69.

Earlier today in the prelims, Hart finished in sixth-place in a field of 40 competitors with her time of 27.79.

"Jessica put herself in a position to win tonight, but was a little overexcited in the first 15 meters,” said Wagner College Head Coach Mark Sowa. “However, for her first national final she performed remarkably. In less than a year, Jessica can now say that she is among the best butterfly competitors in her country. I can honestly say that she has represented herself and Wagner with class, poise, and some pretty good speed too. Tomorrow should be fun."

Hart returns to the pool tomorrow, July 10th, for the penultimate day of the Canadian World Championship trails with the 100 butterfly. Her final competition will be the 50 freestyle on Saturday.
