Beloit, WI - Former Wagner College standout and 2008 Northeast Conference (NEC) Pitcher of the Year
Joe Testa was selected for the Midwest League (Low-A) All-Star Game to be held on Tuesday, June 23 in Clinton, Iowa. The hard-throwing lefty graduated from Wagner in 2008 as the program's all-time leader in strikeouts (308) and wins (19) and has continued his success at the professional level.
Pitching for the Beloit Snappers (Minnesota Twins affliate), Testa leads the team in strikeouts (48) (12th Midwest League), appearances (20) (9th Midwest League), ERA (1.75) and WHIP (1.00) while holding hitters to a .148 average. The hard-throwing Testa also has 44 strikeouts in relief which is tied for the most among all Midwest League relievers.
In the month of May, Testa was outstanding appearing in 12 games while posting a 1.23 ERA with 28 strikeouts over 22.0 innings.
Testa, who was Beloit's lone All-Star selection, was play for the West team.
Opposing Testa on the East Team will be former Monmouth University pitcher Brad Brach, who paces the Midwest League with 15 saves and 24 appearances while posting a 3-2 record and a 1.13 ERA.
Testa and Brach were NEC First Team selections in 2008.
