Staten Island, NY- Wagner College softball head coach
Glen Payne has announced the signing of two incoming student-athletes in the early National Letter of Intent signing period.
Kristen Matteoni who plays her club ball for the Mizuno All-Stars joins the Seahawks from Reno, NV where she attends Galena High School. Payne will look to Matteoni to play either second or third base. A strong right-handed hitter, she is expected to be an impact player as a freshman.
Ashley Rollins who plays her club ball for the Vienna Stars hails from Fairfax, VA where she attends Fairfax High School. A very versatile player, Rollins could see action in the circle, at first base, or in the outfield. She is also a powerful right-handed pitcher who hits well.
Wagner begins its 2010 season on February, 19 when the Seahawks travel to the University of Charleston to compete in a five-game tournament.
