Wagner College Ranked #1 In The U.S. News & World Reports Best College Ranking Of "Up-and-Comers" Among Northern Regional Universities

STATEN ISLAND, NY - WNBC-TV News aired a story on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, by reporter Roseanne Colletti about Wagner College's #1 ranking on U.S. News & World Report's annual list of up-and-coming regional universities:

For the second year in a row, Wagner College made the #1 spot in the U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges ranking of “Up-and-Comers” among Northern Regional Universities.

And, for the seventh year running, Wagner appeared among the Top 25 Northern Regional Universities, overall, on the annual Best Colleges list, which was released today. Wagner finished in a four-way tie for #25.

Drager Places First in 1500-Meter Run
Randall’s Island, NY – Senior #Brecken Drager# (Loomis, CA/Del Oro) added another first place finish to her season accomplishments at the 2010 NYC Qualifying Challenge held at Icahn Stadium this weekend. Drager out paced 17 other athletes in the 1500-meter run with a first place time of 4:43.88.

Drager Adds Another First-Place Finish at NEC Championships
Emmitsburg, MD – Senior #Brecken Drager# (Loomis, CA/Del Oro) claimed her second first-place finish of the weekend at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship on Sunday. Drager beat 29 other runners in the 5000-meter dash, finishing with her second-best time of the season at 17:48.76.

Drager Earns NEC Championship in 10,000-Meter Event
Emmitsburg, MD – Senior #Brecken Drager# (Loomis, CA/Del Oro) finished first in the 10,000-meter run at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship on Saturday. Drager finished with a season-best time of 37:54.29 to take top honors over 20 other athletes.

Philadelphia, PA – The Wagner College Women's Outdoor Track and Field team provided the season's second-best finish in the 4x200 meter relays at day two of the Penn Relays on Friday. The team, consisting of sophomore #Francyna Evins# (Staten Island, NY/Curtis), freshman #Tiffany Dawson# (Staten Island, NY/Curtis), senior #Amanda Gland# (Woodbury, CT/Nonnewaug), and junior #Jessica Balling# (Seaford, NY/MacArthur) finished in 1:49.13.

Women’s Track and Field Competes in First Day of the Penn Relays
Philadelphia, PA – Senior #Brecken Drager# (Loomis, CA/Del Oro) and sophomore #Sheena Taylor# (Twinsburg, OH/Detroit Mercy) led the way for the Wagner College Women’s Outdoor Track Field team at the first day of the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, PA on Thursday. Drager registered a season-best time in 3000-meter run while Taylor placed 14th in the Shot Put.
