New Rochelle, NY -  The Wagner women's soccer team will look for their third-straight win as they conclude the non-conference portion of its schedule on Sunday afternoon at Iona. 

OPENING KICKS...
  • Wagner picked up a pivotal Northeast Conference (NEC) victory on Thursday as they came back to defeat the Bryant University Bulldogs, 2-1, in double overtime. 
  • Junior forward Isabella Manzella scored the golden goal in the 105th minute as she was able to put in the loose ball after classmate Madison Carr rocketed a shot on target. 
  • The Seahawks are 2-1 this season against schools from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), as they picked up wins over Rider (3-2 | Aug. 20) and Saint Peter's (3-0 | Aug. 25) but dropped a 2-1 decision at home against Manhattan (Aug. 29). 
  • Iona enters Sunday's contest looking to snap a three-match losing streak after falling at home to Marist, 1-0, back on Wednesday afternoon.

ALL-TIME SERIES...
  • Sunday's contest between these two New York-based programs is the 14th all-time meeting with the Gaels holding a 6-5-2 advantage in the head-to-head series. 
  • Wagner took the last meeting back on September 15, 2019, 3-2, in overtime at Hameline Field. 
  • The last time these two teams met in New Rochelle, back on September 10, 2017, the contest ended in a 2-2 draw after two overtimes couldn't determine a winner. 
  • The Green and White will look for their first-ever win at Mazzella Field, as they enter Sunday with a 0-4-2 mark in games in New Rochelle. 


ABOUT THE SEAHAWKS...
  • Wagner has recorded the third-most overall wins in the conference this year (5) while matching the most victories under head coach Phil Casella's tenure (2019) to date. 
  • Madison Carr needs one goal to move into a tie for seventh-place all-time on the Wagner single-season goal list as she would match the seven goals scored by Johanna Konrad (2014), Julie Vigliotti (2012), Jennifer Spadafino (2003), and Heather Arney (1997 & 1998). 
  • The Seahawks are tied for fourth in the circuit with St. Francis Brooklyn with 15 total goals scored this season.
  • Carr remains tied for the conference lead with Howard's Melea Earley with six goals. 
  • Junior tri-captain Annie White is among the league leaders in goals scored with three. 
  • Sophomore Mia Tessier is tied for fourth in the conference in assists with three. 
  • Junior netminder Erin Kelly ranks fourth among conference goalkeepers in goals-against average at 1.25. 
  • Freshman keeper, Sam Hughes, ranks fifth in the league in saves per game, averaging 5.80 a contest in five games played this season. 
  • Kelly is tied for the NEC lead in shutouts with two, joining Central Connecticut's Amanda McQuillan and Fairleigh Dickinson's Malene Nielsen. 


ABOUT THE GAELS...
  • Iona enters with a 5-7-0 overall record and looking to snap a three-game losing streak.
  • Wagner is the lone NEC school that Iona will face this season.
  • Four Gaels have recorded three goals in Faith Preziosi, Graceann Murphy, Emily Drake, and Kedarjah Lewis. 
  • Preziosi leads the team with four assists and 10 points. 
  • Emma Havrilla has played in 11 of the 12 contests this season in goal for Iona, recording 37 saves while giving up 20 goals on 129 shots faced.
