Staten Island, NY – On Tuesday, March 27, no less than 20 NFL Teams were in attendance to watch as Wagner hosted its annual Pro Day at Hameline Field.
On the day, five Seahawks – DL
Jordan Baskerville, OL
Matt Diaz, LB
Mathieu Loiselle, LB
D.J. Paul, OL
Greg Senat and WR
John Williams – were joined by a host of other prospects from local colleges and universities as part of Pro Day.
Utilizing Wagner's game and practice facilities, the scouts measured each of the prospects' results in a variety of drills, including the bench press, 40-yard dash, standing long jump, shuttle runs, three-cone drill, vertical jumps, in addition too positional drills.
"Pro Day here at Wagner is always an exciting day," said head coach
Jason Houghtaling, who will enter his fourth season at the helm of the Seahawk program in 2018. "The dream of every college football player is to one day play in the NFL and it's truly an honor to have NFL scouts on our campus each year, working our guys out. Obviously, with Greg (Senat) having competed at the NFL Combine, there were some extra eyeballs out to get a look at him, which allows a light to shine on a bunch of other guys.
"An added bonus is a number of our current players came out to support their former teammates," Houghtaling added. "It's a huge motivator for our current team. They soaked in what this is all about and I'm sure were envisioning themselves being in this same position in the future. It's just a great day."
