The Seahawks will enter Sunday's matchup with a 1-4 record while VCU, a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, is 5-1 and winners of four straight. Through five games, 5-6 sophomore guard Jordyn Peck (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights) is averaging a robust 19.5 points per outing and has topped the 20-point mark in through of those games.

Peck's Career-High 27 vs. Vermont ups Season Average to 19.4 ppg
Sophomore guard Jordyn Peck (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights) tossed in a career-high 27 points but it was not enough as Kristina White scored 19 points to lead four Vermont players in double figures as the Catamounts earned an 80-70 victory. Peck shot 7-of-14 from the field, 2-of-4 from three-point range and was 11-of-17 from the free throw line. The 27-point outburst by the 5-6 left-hander surpassed her previous career-best of 24 points which she delivered two games ago at Iona on November 20. Known for her deep-shooting prowess, Peck, on this night, was consistently able to beat her defender off the dribble and get into the lane for driving layups which led to many of her free throw opportunities.

Freshman Nwajei Checks in at 14.0 Per Game
Freshman point guard Jasmine Nwajei (Rockaway Park, NY/Murry Bergtraum) is second on the team in scoring at 14.0 points per game but she was in foul trouble vs. Vermont. Nwajei picked up two fouls within a 36-second span midway through the first half and Wagner trailing by a count of 15-10. As a result, the 5-8 Nwajei, who came in averaging 14.5 points per game, was limited to eight first-half minutes as Vermont raced out to a 43-34 lead at the half. For the evening, Nwajei tallied 12 points in just 18 minutes of action and was harassed into committing nine turnovers.

About the Catamounts
VCU continues its season-long five-game road swing at Wagner today. The Rams, who will face the Seahawks for look to improve on their best start since 2008-09. The Black & Gold is seeking its first five-game win streak since Dec. 4-28, 2011 (the longest in program history is nine in 2004-05). VCU's offense is averaging 80.8 points per game compared to just 62.3 ppg during the same stretch last year. VCU scored 85 at Youngstown St., added 71 on the road against Ohio St., tallied 93 against Elon and posted a season-high 95 at UNC Greensboro. The Rams have drained 8.0 three-pointers per game so far in 2013-14, which is the most in the Atlantic 10. Last year, the Rams reached double digit treys three times. VCU, which has already
accomplished that feat twice this season with 11 triples at Ohio State and 10 at UNCG, has hit a shot from beyond the arc in 20 straight and 35 of its 36 games under second-year Head Coach Marlene Stollings. The Rams lead the A-10 in steals (12.2 spg), turnovers forced (23.8), turnover margin (+7.0) and 3-point field goals (8.0/gm). VCU also ranks among the top five in the league in scoring (2nd – 80.3 ppg), scoring margin (2nd - +11.0) and assists (3rd – 15.3 apg). Senior Robyn Parks, who is the only player in the A-10 averaging
a double-double (20.3 ppg, 10.7 rpg), is nine points away from becoming the 20th player in school history to score 1,000 career points. Today also marks her 100th career game. The reigning A-10 Player of the Week, Parks has scored at least 11 points in 34 straight outings.

All-Time vs. VCU
The Seahawks and the Rams are meeting for the first time ever on the hardwood.
