Women’s Lacrosse Falls to Robert Morris 14-1

Colleen O'Donnell scored four goals while Ashley Trombetta added three goals and three assists to lead Robert Morris to a 14-1 victory over Wagner at cold and soggy Wagner College Stadium.

The Colonials sprinted out to an 8-1 halftime lead and kept the pressure on throughout the contest. Junior midfielder Lauren Petrik (Syracuse, NY/ Baldwinsville) scored the lone Seahawk tally off a pretty feed from sophomore attack Annie O'Connor (Syracuse, NY/ Westhill) with 16:11 left in the opening half.

Robert Morris out-shot Wagner 29-6, held a 22-17 edge in ground balls and a 10-7 advantage in draw controls.

Freshman Morgan Roach (Syracuse, NY/ Westhill) came up with eight saves in goal for the Seahawks while Kaitlin Pentz stopped two shots for the Colonials. Senior defender Carly Lyster (Oakhurst, NJ/ Ocean Township) led Wagner in caused turnovers with three.

With the loss, the Seahawks fall to 2-9 on the season, 1-3 in Northeast Conference play while the Colonials improve to 4-8 overall, 3-2 in league play.

The Seahawks are right back at it on Sunday, April 10 when Wagner hosts Saint Francis (PA) in Northeast Conference action. First draw is set for 11:00 a.m.
