Box Score
Easton, PA - The Wagner College Women's Soccer team lost to the Leopards of Lafayette College last night at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium in a non-conference match-up by the score of 3-1. They now move to a record of (0-5-0) on the season.
Lafayette (2-2-0) opened up the scoring extremely quickly in the contest when they connected on a score that just got by the diving Seahawk freshman goalkeeper Megan Lasky (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) with only 27 seconds gone by in the game.
Less than eight minutes later, the Leopards would score again off a cross that would put them in control early on with a 2-0 advantage.
The Seahawks, however, wouldn't go so quietly into the good night.
With only 15 seconds left in the first half Wagner forced a corner kick. Seahawk senior midfielder Heather Daubert (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) took the kick and crossed it over the box to sophomore midfielder Diane Gantenhammer (South Farmingdale, NY/Farmingdale) who took the pass and finished the goal with just six seconds remaining until halftime.
After the break, the Seahawks couldn't bridge the gap and come up even with the Leopards as it stayed a one goal advantage for the home team until the 69th minute when Lafayette would score and put the game out of reach.
In goal, freshman Megan Lasky (Freehold, NJ/Freehold) for the second straight game got the start and spent all 90 minutes between the pipes where she set a career-high in saves with ten on the night.
The Seahawks next game is Sunday when they come home to Staten Island to take on the Temple Owls at 1 p.m.
