Green and White Score a Season High 13 Runs in Route of Bucknell

Kissimmee, FL - The Seahawks continued their offensive production from Tuesday in the opener vs Bucknell scoring a season high 13 runs on 10 hits while drawing eight walks. Wagner scored in each of the five innings starting off with a bases loaded walk to senior Christy Sykora (Orland, Park, IL / Carl Sandburg) then sent sophomore Katie Stevens (Reno, NV / Wooster) in to score.

In the second two more runs were manufactured after sophomore Ami Iwicki (Flemington, NJ / Hunterdon Central) double and scored and junior Natalie Stephens (Jackson, NJ / Jackson) singled and scored. Iwicki then singled in a run in the third for a 4-0 lead.

Two more walks and a double by freshman Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV / Wooster) in the fourth made it 6-0 before another two manufactured runs were added later in the frame. Bucknell would then dent the scoreboard with an unearned run in the bottom of the inning.

Lazzari added a RBI single to knock in one of two additional Wagner runs in the fifth for a 10-1 advantage. The Bison avoided the 8-run mercy rule with two runs, one earned in the bottom of the fifth before the Seahawks sealed the victory in the sixth. Iwicki drove in another run, followed by a bases loaded walk to Stephens and a sac fly from Stevens.

For Wagner, Lazzari (4 RBI) and Iwicki (3 RBI) each had three hits, while Stevens drew three walks and scored three runs.

Junior Morgan Miller (Las Vegas, NV / Silverado) improved to 5-4 on the year with her fifth straight win. Miller would scatter seven hits in the six innings allowing three runs, one earned with four Ks.
