Centerville, MA- Katie Stevens (Reno, NV/Wooster) and Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV/Wooster) were named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I All-Star teams. Stevens earned first team accolades while Lazzari garnered a spot on the second team.

Somerset, NJ - The Northeast Conference announced its Spring Academic Honor Roll, for the 2007-2008 academic year with Wagner College making up 66 of the 662 student-athletes on the list. All members of the honor roll must have maintained a minimum cumulative grade-point-average of 3.20 and participated with distinction as a member of a varsity team.

Brooklyn, NY - Robert Morris freshman Lindsey Moates led the Colonials to a 6-1 win over Wagner, eliminating the Seahawks from the 2008 Northeast Conference Softball Tournament. The Ocala, Florida native allowed just one run in seven innings of work, scattering five hits while striking out nine. Her counterpart, Wagner's Kate Eshelman (Reno, NV/McQueen), allowed six runs, two unearned on nine hits.

Brooklyn, NY - Despite getting nine hits off of Northeast Conference Pitcher of the Year Blaire Porter of Long Island University the Wagner College softball team dropped the opening round of the NEC Tournament, 6-2, to the top-seeded Blackbirds. They now look to bounce back and remain alive in the double-elimination tournament when they take on the loser of the second game of the day between Robert Morris and Saint Francis (PA) at 3 p.m. today.

Lazzari Named NEC Player of the Year; Five Seahawks Named All-NEC

Brooklyn, NY - Junior infielder Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV/Wooster) was named the "Player of the Year" by the Northeast Conference tonight at the annual postseason award banquet held at Long Island University. It was the first time a Wagner softball history that a Seahawk has been bestowed with the honor. She was also one of five Wagner players that were named to the NEC All-Conference team.

St. Louis, MO - Senior shortstop Katie Stevens (Reno, NV/Wooster) and junior infielder Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV/Wooster) were both named to the ESPN the Magazine / College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American Team for District I as released by the organization earlier today. They were both first team selections.

Staten Island, NY - Freshman outfielder Hailey Corthell (Reno, NV/Reno) drove in seven runs, senior shortstop Katie Stevens (Reno, NV/Wooster) had five hits and junior infielder Andrea Lazzari (Reno, NV/Wooster) set a new Wagner single-season hit record on an afternoon where the Seahawks split with the visiting Fordham Rams -- winning 13-5 in five innings in the first game and losing 12-4 in the second.

Indianapolis, IN - The Wagner College softball team has been recognized by the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) for its exceptional graduation and academic performance record after ranking in the top ten percent of all softball teams in the nation in NCAA Division I Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. The Seahawks are among 29 softball program in this elite category.
