2008-09 (Freshman): Burst onto the scene by leading the NEC in three-point shooting percentage with a .455 clip (46-of-101)…has the ability to score points in bunches and in a variety of ways…possesses a quick release and extraordinary range.....provided instant offense off the bench by averaging 6.1 points per game in just 13.2 minutes of action on a veteran-laden team…hit for double figures in five games…averaged 10.4 points per game over the final eight games of the season…is the team’s leading returning scorer and is ready to take on an expanded role on a much younger team during the upcoming season... enjoyed a career-high 20-point outing vs. Saint Francis (PA) (2/9) on 6-of-8 shooting from three-point range that helped earn him NEC Co-Rookie of Week honors (2/9)…followed up that effort with 18-point effort at Bryant (2/12)...tallied then career-high 13 points vs. St. Francis (NY) (1/3)...totaled 12 points with three trifectas vs. CCSU (1/29)...had nine points in his first collegiate game vs. Lafayette (11/14)…had a 14-point outing at Monmouth (2/28) on 4-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc…saw 15 or more minutes of action in 15 games…his confidence and playing time increased as season wore one, evidenced by his playing at least 10 minutes in 11 of the final 13 games of the season…logged a season-high 28 minutes of action in season finale in an NEC Tournament Quarterfinal game vs. Mount St. Mary’s (3/5).
Prior to Wagner / Personal: Talented combo guard who starred at Winslow Township HS where he played for his father, Chris Martin, Sr. He then spent a post-graduate year at Apex Academies in Pennsauken, NJ where he teamed with five other Division I signees. Despite missing a portion of the season due to a bout with mono, Martin averaged 15.7 points and 6.2 assists in helping to lead Apex to a 26-2 record and a top 10 national prep ranking. At Apex, Martin was teammates with the heralded Morris twins, Markieff and Marcus, a pair of 6-10 forwards who are both play at Kansas.
