Staten Island, NY – The 2012 Wagner College Youth Football Camp, under the direction of Seahawk Associate Head Coach
Tom Masella, will take place July 23-27 and is designed for campers ages eight to 14.
The camp, which runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, will devote two hours each morning to teaching the fundamental skills of football. Following lunch, which is included, the campers will take part in flag football games during the afternoon as well as enjoy recreational time.
Masella is a Wagner College graduate who had the distinction of playing on the first Seahawk team coached by
Walt Hameline in 1981. A stellar defensive back, he left Wagner with 14 career interceptions which ranks fourth on the Seahawks' all-time list.
After serving as a coach at various schools in the Northeast, most recently as head coach at Fordham University where he was he 2009 Patriot League Coach of the Year, Masella returned to his alma mater in February. In addition to serving as Associate Head Coach, he also serves as Wagner's Secondary Coach and Special Teams Coordinator.
“This camp promises to be both productive and exciting,” says Masella. “Assisted by many coaches whom I hold in high regard and have coached with during my career, we will work together to teach you the fundamentals so that you will have a foundation in place to one day become a great player. Most importantly, I can guarantee that if you attend the Tom Masella Football Camp, you will have fun.”
The cost for the camp is $250.00 per person, which Includes lunch and camp tee-shirt.
