Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College track & field team held its annual Wagner Quad this afternoon at Wagner College Stadium. The Seahawks hosted the Blackbirds of LIU Brooklyn the Terriers of St. Francis (N.Y.). The fourth team, Fairleigh Dickinson, did not compete.
The women's 4x800 relay captured first and second place as the top team consisting of
Samantha Lauro,
Cameo Kirk,
Alexis Bivona and
Kelly Pereira clocked in with a time of 9:21.5. The second place four-some of
Emily Pereira,
Victoria Spector,
Taylor Fredrickson and
Dominique Serpe recorded a time of 9:54.1.
Michael Baio,
Thomas Iannacone,
Dan Zaccariello and
Timothy Mendez teamed up in the men's 4x800 relay and set the pace for the rest of pack as the squad finished in the top spot with a time of 7:49.1.
Both the men's and women's 4x100 relays slide past the LIU Brooklyn squads and recorded first place finishes.
Francyna Evins,
Tiffany Dawson,
Morgan Kaisershot and
Shanteana Samuels crossed the finish line in 49.4 as the men's team consisting of
Dante Fernandez,
Kareem B utler,
Alan Kopeloff and
Saquan Mitchell registered a time of 44.0.
Kayleigh Macchirole snagged the top finish away from SFNY's Mary Gallagher in the 400 meter dash as the rookie Seahawk clocked in two seconds ahead of the Terrier with a time 59.4.
Thrower
John Garrish narrowly missed a first place finish in the shot put by two-tenths of meter. The senior tossed for an impressive 13.99 meters and a second place finish.
The Seahawks return to action on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 at the Greyhound Invitational.
