Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College football team, champions of the Northeast Conference (NEC) and winners of eight straight games, will host Patriot League Champion Colgate in a Noon kickoff on Sat., Nov. 24 at Hameline Field in a game that will be streamed live through
ESPN3.
The winner of the Wagner-Colgate matchup, which pits a pair of teams with identical 8-3 records, will then travel to No. 2 seed Eastern Washington on Sat., Dec. 1 at 6:00 pm (EST). Wagner sewed up the 2012 NEC Title with a 23-17 win over Duquesne on Saturday.
Colgate enters the game on a seven-game winning streak, is coming off a 41-39 victory over Fordham, and enters the game ranked No. 25 in The Sports Network Top-25 Poll.
This marks the first NCAA football game that Wagner will compete in since Nov. 19, 1988 when the Seahawks dropped a 34-31 overtime decision at Ithaca. It will be the first home NCAA game for the Seahawks since Nov. 21, 1987 when Wagner defeated the University of Rochester 18-14 in the first round of the Division III Playoffs en route to claiming the National Championship.
