RESULTS

Montreal, Canada-
Wagner College senior Jessica Hart (Montreal, Canada/ Northwest) completed her first day at the Essais Mondiaux ROME 2009 World Championship Trials with an 18th-place finish out of a field of 55 in the 200 butterfly, finishing with a time of 2:19.95.

"This is an event that Jess is still learning how to race,” said Wagner College Head Coach Mark Sowa. “She showed great speed in the first 100, she also won her preliminary heat and finished the final under 2:20. This is a good start to the competition and hopefully her momentum will carry over into tomorrow's 50 meter butterfly."

Hart is scheduled to compete in the 50 butterfly tomorrow, July 9, followed by the 100 butterfly on Friday and the 50 freestyle on Saturday.
