Nick Doscher are up for the
Staten Island Advance's Top Sports Story of the Year.
Bailey's trip to the All-Star game and his Rookie of the Year award highlight the Oakland closer's remarkable ascension to the Major Leagues from Double A.
Doscher, meanwhile, hung up his baseball cleats after playing four seasons of professional baseball and led the Seahawks back into the upper echelon of the Northeast Conference while winning Rookie of the Year honors.
The winning stories will be reported in the Advance on Sunday, December 27.
