STATEN ISLAND, NY - WNBC-TV News aired a story on Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, by reporter Roseanne Colletti about Wagner College's #1 ranking on U.S. News & World Report's annual list of up-and-coming regional universities:

For the second year in a row, Wagner College made the #1 spot in the U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges ranking of “Up-and-Comers” among Northern Regional Universities.

And, for the seventh year running, Wagner appeared among the Top 25 Northern Regional Universities, overall, on the annual Best Colleges list, which was released today. Wagner finished in a four-way tie for #25.

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women’s softball team dropped a pair of one-run decisions to the visiting Red Flash of Saint Francis (PA) this afternoon on Senior Day at the Lower Athletics Field. After falling in a back-and-forth affair in game one 7-6, the Green & White were edged in game two by a score of 2-1. With the losses, the Seahawks fall to 13-28 overall, with a 7-9 mark in NEC play. The Red Flash improve to 13-34 overall, 4-12 in league play.

Staten Island, NY- The Wagner College softball team’s doubleheader scheduled today against Sacred Heart University has been postponed due to inclement weather conditions. The games are scheduled to be made up on May 8th.

Hamden, CT- The Wagner College softball team suffered a doubleheader sweep to Quinnipiac University, 4-3, 7-1, this afternoon at the Quinnipiac Softball Field. The Seahawks held a lead in each contest, but both times were upended by a Quinnipiac comeback.

Hackensack, NJ- The Wagner College softball team garnered a pair of one-run victories this afternoon against Fairleigh Dickinson (FDU) at the FDU Softball Field. In game one of the twin bill, a six-run fifth inning fueled the Seahawks past the Knights en route to a 10-9 victory before coming out on top in the nightcap, 5-4.

Staten Island, NY- The Wagner College softball team split a pair of games this afternoon with the Temple University Owls at Wagner’s Lower Athletics Field. After falling in the opener, 6-3, the Seahawks secured a seventh inning come-back victory in the night cap, 4-3.
