Staten Island, NY – Stony Brook broke a 16-16 tie with a 23-0 run to take a commanding 39-16 first half lead en route to a 72-48 victory over Wagner. With the win, the Seawolves improve to 3-0 on the season while Wagner falls to 0-2.

The Wagner College Seahawks, one of the nation’s youngest teams featuring seven freshmen, and the Stony Brook Seawolves will meet in Wagner’s 2009-2010 home opener. The Seahawks are coming off an 81-72 loss at Lafayette last Friday night in a game in which Wagner led most of the way. The Seahawks were paced by freshman guard Ryan Conrad Freshman guard Ryan Conrad (Columbus, NC/ Providence Academy) who played like a wily veteran vs. someone playing his first collegiate game, pouring in 20 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including a 4-of-7 effort from three-point range. He was also a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line and added five rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes of action.The Seahawks won last year’s meeting in Stony Brook 65-62.

Newark, NJ – NJIT scored the first seven points of the game and never looked back en route to a 68-56 wire-to-wire victory over Wagner in non-conference action at the Fleisher Center. Junior Ashley Olsen recorded her second-straight double-double (13 points / 10 rebounds) to lead the Green & White.
